A rainbow bridge in the sky ~TAIKOBASHI~

The design of this round sofa is based on the arched drum bridges of Japan. Arched drum bridges are named so because their shape is similar to the barrel of a drum. They are semicircular shaped arched bridges with a high center. The warpage and vertical latticework of their latticed windows creates a gentle division in space. The vertical latticework on top of the circular arc is crafted with great skill, and is exquisitely positioned.

First, it is 4 meters in length, and its beautiful shape of warp age and vertical latticework is impressive. Its presence is striking to the eye. Bridges that have been painted on Japanese woodblock prints since ancient times, appear as drums that have risen out from the middle of the river to form a bridge.This is because a construction method that places as much of the bridge's weight as possible onto the riverbanks, and lessens the number of columns in the river, has been adopted. This lounge sofa is based on the image of these arched drum bridges.

Special cutting technology is used to cut the hardwood as thinly as possible, and beautifully display the contour of the warpage in the exquisite center. Consistently precise dimensions and skill are required for the vertical latticework on top of the circular arc.

Its black wood is polished to a light sheen. It looks similar to light shining in the pitch-dark with the appearance of a rainbow bridge in the night sky.

“TAIKOBASHI” can make large areas such as hotel lobbies or public spaces look and feel luxurious.
