Made by assembling a mosaic of squares of wood many different species of trees. Beginning with rare, difficult to obtain wood species, we carefully select the best wood ourselves and bring the best specimens to the surface, giving our products the appearance of being inlaid with jewels of many colors.

- Persimmon wood:

persimmon trees live for hundreds of years, building up layers of wood. The heartwood that on rare occasions develops a black pattern is an extremely precious, highly valued wood. It has been considered a precious material since at least the year 1300.

- Since the Age of the Gods, 800 to 2500 years ago, the Japanese elm has been dug up from the earth and sand and deep wet bogs. Is is rare for these trees to have preserved their properties without decay.

- Plane trees: Napoleon chose to plant these as roadside trees along the Champs d'Elysée in Paris. For 180 years, up to the present, these old trees have been transplanted, contributing in part to their deforestation.

- Sequoia: The world's tallest trees, standing close to 100m, are native only to coastal mountain ranges on the west coast of the United States.

We also use true birch, mahogany, teak, white sycamore, birdseye maple, red oak, African padauk, oak, cassod, eyong, and more.

Take comfort in the characteristics of your furniture. This sofa may appear to be of solid wood at first glance, but the qualities of each and every individual square of wood are utilized. By using impact absorbing, low-resistance urethane, the sofas are soft to sit upon, and gently support the body. We believe that it will far more comfortable than it looks.

We have named this sofa that imitates wood mosaic, MOKUSAIKU.

Wood color is the natural color of the wood itself. Characteristics of each species, such as tree rings, color, and texture differ, but we use those idiosyncrasies in our designs to produce even higher quality merchandise. This is uncolored, so it has a urethane clear coat.
