Construction
Main Frame :
The chair should be on main frame of Stainless steel (or CR-steel) having thickness of 2mm or more (standard tolerance allowed) with powder coating of minimum 50 microns. The frame will be of appropriate size and designed to bear a testing weight of 600 kgs. (200 Kg per chair). The ends shall have aesthetically designed and plugged. The crossbeam made of High density hot-rolled steel.
Base :
The frame support shall be of Stainless Steel (or CR-Steel) of 2 mm or more thick (standard tolerance allowed) OR aluminium / aluminium alloy die cast. The base should be stainless steel or aluminum alloy die cast.
The design of the base shall ensure that the chair remains stable and it should have suitable levelling mechanism capable of adjusting the level. The base/shoe should have anti-skid at the bottom.
The design of the base and its fixing shall enable the chair to bear a testing weight of 600 Kg.
Platform sheet:
The platform sheet for seat and backrest shall be perforated and made from 201# stainless steel Sheet of minimum 2 mm thickness (standard tolerance allowed)) without surface coating having ergonomic sitting profile firmly and aesthetically fixed on the main frame. The sheet shall be properly finished and powder coated to minimum 50 microns with polyester lacquer coating of minimum 50 microns (total 100 microns minimum). For ease of cleaning the back of the seat should have sufficient gap to allow the spilt liquid and litter to fall through (between seat and backrest).
Armrest:
The four armrests shall be of Stainless Steel (CR-Steel) of 1.2 mm or more thick (standard tolerance allowed) OR aluminium/ aluminium alloy die cast.
The armrest and its fixing shall be stable enough to bear a weight of minimum 100 Kg.
Assembly:
The base and seating shall be fixed on to the single main frame with conveniently fixed armrests in such a way that assembling/dismantling is easy and interchange ability is possible. The assembly should also be capable of fixing table in place of chair and spacer brackets for maintaining correct distance, if required. The chair should not develop any structural failure within a period of five years for which the company should provide a confirmation certificate. The assembly should also ensure that all nuts, bolts and screws are concealed as far as possible without protruding and maintains overall aesthetics. There should not be any sharp edges.
Cushion and Upholstery for Seat & Backrest
The seat and backrest pad shall be made of polyurethane foam sponge of minimum 25-mm thick injection moulded over preformed plywood of minimum 6mm or GI sheet of about 0.8 mm.
The padding of seat & backrest shall have fire retardant features. The upholstery material shall be artificial leather having inherent fire retardant features (Cigarette and Match test). The fixing and removal of seat and backrest shall be easy for periodical maintenance and fixing arrangement shall be aesthetic, non-protruding and durable. The total thickness of seating / pad including foam, plywood / GI plate, upholstery material etc. should not be less than 26 mm with GI sheet/ 31mm with plywood.
The density of CMHR foam shall be 60 to 70 Kg/m3 to have long lasting quality / strength without causing permanent deformation and to provide seating comfort. The design and contour of the seat and backrest should ensure comfortable sitting. Colour as decided by AAI shall be provided on order.
Stability & Gross Weight:
The chair should not get displaced due to frequent occupying and vacating of chair by passengers. The gross weight of the chair shall not be less than 35Kg~50 kg.
